These Multi use water filter cartridges are designed to treat a variety of problems with the use of Polyphosphate that modifies the water hardness

Polyphosphate salts seek out and attach directly to the calcium elements in hard water, this prevents the hard water causing calcium from being able to form scale

Polyphosphate can not function correctly in hard water over 180 ppm or above 95°C
