There’s been quite a buzz about this show in the Aqua Cure office with Pentair’s new Claris Prime water filter appearing for the first time at the event.
For those unfamiliar with the exhibition, Hotelympia is described by its organisers as “the UK’s largest foodservice and hospitality event” which provides innovation and networking opportunities for hotels, restaurants, pubs, cafes and catering companies. More details and a full exhibitors list can be found at www.hotelympia.com
Aqua Cure are delighted to be attending what is probably the biggest event in the catering calendar and we will be exhibiting on the Pentair Foodservice stand (no. 1234). Our very own Stuart Godfrey will be on hand throughout the four day event to offer advice and assistance with Pentair’s outstanding range of water filters for commercial kitchens.
Aqua Cure and Pentair Foodservice will be exhibiting water filtration and installation components for a wide range of foodservice equipment, including combi / steam ovens, ice machines, chilled and hot drink dispense units, coffee / espresso machines and warewashers. In keeping with the show’s themes of innovation and ideas, we are also launching the new Claris Prime filter (designed to protect equipment in water areas with high chloride and sulphate content) at the show.

Aqua Cure has been a long-time supporter of Aquatech Amsterdam, as both a visitor and an exhibitor.
Aqua Cure Business Development Manager Stuart Godfrey was delighted to represent Aqua Cure when he attended earlier this month. “Aquatech is widely regarding as the ‘World Water Show’,” says Stuart “making it an important arena for Aqua Cure to introduce ourselves to new customers as well as identify new products and technologies we are eager to work with and distribute. The show also provides the chance to catch up with key supply partners and expand on existing relationships.”
“It was good to see some of our key suppliers such as Pentair / Everpure, Doulton, John Guest and DMfit occupying some some of the biggest stands at the event and showcasing their vast arrays of products, the bulk of which are available on an overnight carrier from Aqua Cure’s UK warehouse.”
Aqua Cure were also represented at the illustrious Waterlogic dinner that concludes Aquatech every year, this time by Managing Director Mark Brown. “It brings together their worldwide distribution partners and key figures,” says Stuart “it’s a very special night.”
Unfortunately we have no pictures of that…
Aqua Cure are proud to be exhibiting at Vendex North 2015. The one day vending show is taking place at Old Trafford on Tuesday 17th November and has more than 70 exhibitors signed up.
Aqua Cure will be present at stand G18 where Alex and Adam will be happy to speak to you.
Vendex aims to provide a “convivial, yet buzzing atmosphere” where both buyers and sellers can do “good business in a friendly environment”. This is aided by Vendex’s policy of free car parking and free entry in order to make attendance as easy as possible. If you’re quick, there’s also the possibility of a free lunch and a free goody bag, though the latter is strictly first come, first served.
Please see the Vendex website for more details.
Sunday 6th September saw the North West round of the British Superbikes championship at Oulton Park, Cheshire. Aqua Cure Managing Director Mark Brown, a keen motorcyclist was delighted to accept an invitation from John Guest to visit the event to get a look behind the scenes of a top British Superbike race team. JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s leading rider James Ellison sits 3rd in the BSB Championship at present.
James visited the JG guests between races on Sunday.
Mark came in to the office on Monday with these pictures and a big grin.
We’re guessing Mark didn’t tell them in the Kawasaki pits that he rides a Honda…

United Utilities are continuing to advise customers in some areas of Lancashire to boil their water 3 weeks after suffering an outbreak of cryptosporidium, a microscopic parasite, at their Franklaw Water Treatment plant in Catterall, near Garstang.
The outbreak is currently affecting around 300,000 households and businesses and United Utilities are now installing ultra violet sterilisers at various points in their network in a bid to kill the parasite. However, according to the Lancashire Evening Post today, a United Utilities spokesman has stated that the systems “won’t be operational until towards the end of the week” and with 2,500 miles of pipes and water mains to flush, “a decision on lifting the boil water alert is not imminent”. If you have been affected and would like impartial advice or details of possible filtration solutions, please feel free to call us on 01704 516916.

Aqua Cure are exceptionally pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Nicholson as Trade Sales Manager.
Alex has proven company and industry knowledge having been a key player in the Aqua Cure sales team for many years. She will be returning slightly earlier than originally planned from maternity leave in order to take up the post.
Managing Director, Mark Brown said that as Trade Sales Manager, Alex “will be hitting the ground running and will apply her own ideas and initiatives into this role for the future”.
The whole Aqua Cure sales team all very much look forward to welcoming Alex back to the office in her new role.
Aqua Cure have won a potentially significant order: for their new range of N-UV ultra violet sterilisers to be supplied to Virgin Trains. Two of the 24 watt versions of the stainless steel steriliser will be specified for each of the diesel fleet’s 15 catering carriages on the East Coast Mainline.
All water used for on-board catering appliances will be treated by the systems on the journeys between London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Leeds.
Aqua Cure Managing Director Mark Brown is pictured (left) with Warren Johnston, Systems Engineering Manager at Virgin’s Edinburgh depot.
The contract is extremely promising for Aqua Cure, the successful introduction of their U.V. systems on the East Coast Mainline potentially provides an opportunity to quote for the electric fleet when the contract for the supply of U.V. systems comes up for renewal soon.

Aqua Cure are very pleased to be back at AVEX for the 2015 event, to be held at Manchester Central on 30th June and 1st July.
Focusing on the coffee, vending and water industries, AVEX will see 101 exhibitors and over 3,000 visitors during its two days.
Aqua Cure will be at stand 52 where we will be ably supported by our supply partners Pentair Everpure. Accordingly we will be displaying a number of items from Everpure’s diverse product range including a full set of Claris Ultra cartridges, the MRS reverse osmosis unit for the food service market and a selection of ice machine, coffee machine, cold cup and water fountain filters.
We will also be be distributing Everpure’s Water For Coffee Lovers booklet on the stand to promote the importance of water in making the perfect brew.
As an amusing aside, AVEX 2015 will be celebrating the anniversary of the invention of the vending machine.
Now, how long ago do you think the first vending machine was built?
Guess again… the first coin operated vending machine was designed and built 2000 years ago in ancient Greece by the mathematician and engineer Hero of Alexandria. Hero’s device, which resembled a large vase, dispensed holy water when a coin was inserted, thus freeing up the temple priests to deal with more pressing matters.
To see how the vending industry has progressed in the last two millennia, visit the AVEX International 2015 vending conference, not forgetting to stop by the Aqua Cure stand. To make an appointment to see how we can save you money on maintenance for mains-fed vending or coffee machines, please contact us.
